On Wednesday 11 March, the Cotswold Volunteer Wardens from Cotswold National Landscape will be hosting a guided walk starting and ending at Frampton Mansell. The details are shown below.
There is no need to book and there is no charge for joining the walks. However, there is a box for a voluntary contribution towards materials for our work on footpath maintenance. Walks start usually at 10.00 am. & will return to the starting point. A packed lunch is advisable. Sadly, no dogs allowed, but dog walkers could find attractive self-guided walks on the website. Wednesday, 11th March, 2026 – Frampton, Oakridge and The Holy Brook
A Springtime stroll through pastures, woods and Cotswold villages, taking in Frampton Mansell, Bakers Mill, Oakridge Lynch and the Holy Brook, with a pub at the end.

Route description
The walk begins and ends at The Crown in Frampton Mansell. It includes an attractive section of the Thames and Severn canal & passes Bakers Mill once occupied by Daphne Neville and famous for its otters. The walk rises to the villages of Oakridge Lynch, Far Oakridge and Water Lane. We return to the Frome valley via the woodland walk along Holy Brook and back to The Crown, which is open for lunches until 2.30. https://www.thecrowninn-cotswolds.co.uk
The walk is on village roads, footpaths and pasture. In the event of very muddy conditions some adjustment may be made as necessary.
Basic fitness needed but there are two moderate slopes with climbs of around 200ft. A pair of sticks would be useful on some grassy slopes.

The start is in the pub car park at The Crown Inn, Frampton Mansell. Stroud GL6 8JG We have been asked to keep the front car park free for customers, so please drive through the area next to the pub entrance to reach a larger parking place at the rear.
